Ep. 82 RunGo. With Noah Bloom

The co-founder tells us about how his love for the outdoors and tech has come together

“I grew up in Montreal and maybe we prioritized culture and arts and music and late nights. But from an early age, I really felt the alure towards the mountains. Now I'm living in North Vancouver and with endless trails in the backyard, I'm able to pursue my love for exploring the trails and wilderness. But in between those two things, I've had a few key experiences in my life that are guiding what I'm working on and also RunGo's mission which is to encourage people to explore their world and prioritize their well-being.”

Noah Bloom has found a way to make two of the things he loves come together in an app that he and Craig Slagel founded. RunGo, which is a sponsor for our Vancouver screening of the Trail Running Film Festival, is an app that’s the most popular running app for discovering the best routes in the world with turn-by-turn voice navigation. They’ve done partnerships where the app guides you through races, highlighting important features along the way, like trail names, distance to aid stations, and even alerting you if you’re off course. The app never runs ads and they pride themselves on providing an experience, not simply trying to collect people’s data. They look to form strong relationships with folks to achieve growth.

We're recently focusing our growth more on our partnerships and by supporting creators. By partners, I mean like cities and hotels, often luxury hotels around the world to develop outdoor fitness programs. And creators like run groups, coaches, run specialty retailers, fitness influencers, race organizers. To give them the best and only tools out there to really personalize maps and routes, let them share more easily with their audience, and make it simple and not a nuisance for people to use these routes and maps. And they can use it on RunGo or via a unique custom route file for any device.

Noah was a wonderful guest to chat with, it was a great time hearing his story and how excited he and all of RunGo are for their future. I hope you enjoy the episode and you can let us know what you think about it and the app! We’re so pumped to have RunGo on board a sponsor for the Trail Running Film Festival.
