Hello friends, happy Sunday!
It’s a great day around here as we have a race entry to give away to The Wildness Stage Race happening June 27-29 at Panorama Resort. Did you catch the latest podcast where we chatted with Course Manager Brittany Peterson all about it?
Ep. 152 The Wildness. With Brittany Peterson
Brittany Peterson loves the outdoors and loves helping runners achieve their goals. So when she had the opportunity to be a part of BC’s latest stage race, The Wildness, she jumped at it. The event sounds like so much fun, and I can’t wait to try it out. I’ll be there this weekend with Sheena. She’s excited to support me and check out the amenities, and I can’t wait to check out the course and meet her afterward to enjoy the evenings together. We will do another episode to wrap all of it up, and let you know about our experience. It’s gonna be a blast!
Here is some more information about the race:
Experience the thrill of trail running like never before at Panorama Mountain Resort. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Purcell Mountains, we challenge your spirit with a 2-day back-to-back racing design. You can register for one, or both days of this event.
Race Day 1: Saturday, June 28
Distance: 36 KM
Elevation: 2700 m
This is where you test your endurance and your overall ability to climb to the mountaintops, traverse the ridgelines, descend the talus and stay fierce in the pine tree forests. You get to the high point of our resort and have a serene 360 degree view of the Purcell Mountain Range and the Columbia Valley with Kootenay and Banff National Parks on the horizon.
Day 2: Sunday, June 29
Distance: 13 KM
Elevation: 850 m
This is a shorter course, but difficult nonetheless! It is designed as an “All Climb, All Descent” route but has an extra challenge with a designated section for a “Timed Ascent” route for a “race within the race.” What will you do? Go for the overall split or get to the timed ascent and hammer the section? Either way, it should be a fun challenge.
How fun does all of that sound??
Want to join me??
Just respond to this email and say as much! You can simply hit reply and say “I’m in”, or you can elaborate some more and tell me why you want to go. Either way, your name will go in the draw and I’ll announce a winner on Tuesday morning (so you have time to plan the weekend!). Look out on IG as well for more chances to enter over there.
Can’t wait to run with one of you next weekend and check out this awesome new event. Enter now :)
